World Rivers Day
28 Sep 2014, All day
Hundreds of Rivercare volunteers around the Anglian region will join with thousands more around the globe as they celebrate World Rivers Day on 28 September. From Lincolnshire to South Essex, RiverCarers will be putting on their wellies and creating healthier rivers with clean ups of their local watercourses.
RiverCare is a joint initiative between Keep Britain Tidy and Anglian Water and supports a fantastic network of hundreds of volunteers in 45 communities who clean up their local rivers of litter, remove non-native plant species, carry out biodiversity surveys and many other key tasks to improve their local river environment.
If you’d like to get involved and join a river clean up on the weekend 27-28 September, please go to our World Rivers Day Events page to see if there is a river clean up happening in your part of the Anglian region.
